Friday night was my first taster of Köln night life - a cocktail bar with a group of the younger members of staff. A couple of observations:
1. They still have happy 'hours', meaning drinks were nicely quite cheap.
2. You don't have to order at the bar, when they clear your empty glasses they ask if you'd like another drink, and then you pay for all your drinks together when you leave.
3. They don't have the smoking ban here, meaning that once more going out equals coming home with clothes smelling of smoke.
It was a good night all in all though :) with a lift all the way back home being an added bonus. Going out with all teachers though definitely made me feel as if I had rapidly aged a few years!
